Turn the sound on for this one. “Backyard Splash” is our video tour of a Summerlin South backyard where the outdoor kitchen and the pool aren’t two separate spaces — they’re one. The grill station sits about ten feet from the water, which means whoever’s cooking is never stuck inside missing the fun, and whoever’s swimming never has to wait long for dinner.

The Idea: One Space, Not Two

A lot of Las Vegas backyards treat the pool and the patio as separate zones — you swim over there, you eat over here. This project was designed around the opposite idea. The kitchen’s bar top faces the water, so the cook is part of the conversation, and the counter seating doubles as the best seat in the house for watching cannonball contests.

Built for Vegas Summers

The white marble-look countertops do more than photograph well — lighter surfaces stay noticeably cooler under our desert sun than dark stone, which matters when you’re serving food off them in July. The decorative tile backdrop and gabion stone accents tie the kitchen to the pool area’s landscaping so the whole yard reads as one designed space. Everything in this build is chosen to live outside in Las Vegas heat, all year long.
